The Trumps faced Chuck and Pray in a back and forth slugfest last week in the ABL Flag Football League. The Trumps quarterback Keith Spano was clearly hobbled from a knee injury he suffered a few weeks ago, but he still turned in a gutsy performance (15 of 28 3 TD and 3 INT) for his team to lead them to the win. On the other side, quarterback Jon Elashtayn of Chuck and Pray consistently responded when him and his offense were on the field. His main target was Nick Zivgzda, who led the way for Chuck and Pray with 5 catches and 2 touchdowns and added 2 interceptions.
For the Trumps at receiver they were, per usual, led by the usual Matt and Chase Larangera. They combined for 11 catches and all 3 of The Trumps touchdowns. Chase also recorded an interception on defense. The game came down to the very end, where that defense put it away for The Trumps. A late safety on a botched snap gave them a lead and, after the offense bled the clock, the defense stepped up and made the stand they needed to when their backs were up against their own endzone.
