Verve Gives up 6 in the 1st and Could Not Recover

PLAYOFFS -- Despite great games from Leo (2-4, R, 2RBI) and Noel (3-4, R) the Jersey Shore Verve were upset Tuesday night and knocked out of the Playoffs.

The crew from Toast came out fired up and swinging in the first and put up 6 quick runs. The three headed monster of Brendan (4-4, 2R, 3RBI), Adam (4-4, RBI) and Matty Buns (3-4, 2R, 4RBI, IPHR) led the charge offensively.

Matty was equally filthy on the mound all night, holding the usually high powered Verve attack to only 3 runs thru the first 8 innings. He was backed up by player of the game Chris Volt (2-4, 2R, RBI) who made what seemed like a dozen outstanding plays at shortstop and one all world diving catch on a line drive.

Verve got a little rally going in the bottom of the 9th, putting up 4 to make it close but in the end Toast advances with a 10-7 victory.

Toast will look for redemption Tuesday when they take on Make it a Double. They were embarrassed a couple weeks ago 20-2 and have revenge on their minds.
