BOGOTA, NJ -- Nutley Kia swept the NJ Expos 2 games to 0 in their first Double Header of the fall season. What we learned?
Nutley Kia is good. Very good.
One of the better all-around shortstops we have seen in a while on both sides was Javier Butler. He made some nice plays in both games between 2nd & 3rd. He has speed, he is vocal, passionate & tough! Not to mention in both games combined, he went 6 for 9 with 5 Runs scored & 4 RBIS.
In Game 1, Nutley Kia scored runs in all but 1 inning (6th), including 9 in the 7th inning to pull away. Game 2 for Nutley KIA was solid again, particularly from their pitcher Joe D. He knocked off the rust after letting up 4 runs in the 1st & 2 in the 2nd to 4 straight shut out innings. Kudos!
NJ Expos couldn't get much going consistently. They scored 5 in the bottom of the 1st in Game 1, then disappeared through the next 5 innings only bringing in 1. CJ Batista had a nice game batting clean up going 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored & 2 RBI's. The bottom of the order is what really hurt the Expos, Ray, Frank, Rich, Andres & Jeff weren't able to score any runs.
Nutley Kia will hope to continue their streak when they take on the Northeast PA Pirates next week.
