The EarthQUATES continued their dominance over the ABL Shuffleboard universe by dispatching Cool Hand Luke in the tournament finals. Congrats to them!
In pool play, the QUATES finished 2-1, suffering their first loss all season to Indiana Jones in a 21-20 thriller. They earned the # 3 seed.
Meanwhile, Cool Hand Luke got smoked in the first 2 games but came back to win game 3 vs. Zero Pucks given. Luke and Zero then faced off again in a play-in game for the # 4 seed, which Luke secured in a hard-fought win.
In round 1 of the playoffs, Cool Hand Luke stayed on fire, easily dispatching the # 1 seeded 'Fins', a team that traveled all the way from Pennsylvania. The Fins, who are known throughout the local PA shuffle leagues, had gone undefeated up until facing Luke.
The EarthQUATES also dominated their playoff game (and rematch) vs Indiana Jones.
With momentum on both sides, the Champ Final was set - Cool Hand Luke vs. EarthQUATES.
And then, Luke layed an egg. It wasn't even close.
The QUATES cruised to a crushing 21-4 victory, winning the first ABL Shufflemania Tournament, and of course the $200 cash prize.
