Both teams fought hard in a close one last night, but Cooper's Union struck hard in the 2nd inning, which proved enough to hold off McSwiggins.

McSwiggins lead 3-2, but in the bottom of the 2nd inning Sean Pardue smacked a grand slam, part of a 6 running inning giving Cooper's Union and 8-3 lead.

McSwiggins rallied in the 4th inning to score two runs with RBI singles from Randy Williams and Rob Lennon.  Then in the 6th inning Corey Brown hit a solo homer, cutting the score to 8-6.

But in the bottom of the 6th Cooper's Union James Dinizo added an insurance run with a solo homer to secure Cooper's Union's 9-6 victory.

For Cooper's Union, James Dinizio went 3-4 on the night, Sean Pardue had four RBIs and Brandon Marucci, Jaimie Werner and Sal Vargo each had two hits a piece.

For McSwiggans Randy Williams went 3-4 and Corey Brown scored three runs on the night.

Both teams are now 1-1 on the season.  Cooper's Union returns to action on Oct. 4th while McSwiggans Pub plays Oct. 12th.
