It was a great matchup last night between the Slingers and Hudson River Crossfit.

In the top of the 3rd inning with the score 4-2 in favor of Slingers, Hudson River Crossfit went on a scoring rampage as Mike Brizz and Mike Galanti jacked three and two run homers respectively, part of a 7 run inning that made the score 9-4 in favor of Crossfit.

In the bottom of the 4th inning with Crossfit leading 10-5, Slinger's Jesse Daunno scored on an error then Jason Orr nailed a two-run homerun cutting Crossfit's lead to two runs.

Tensions were high as Slingers entered the bottom of the 7th inning trailing Crossfit 10-9. 

Slinger's James Amadeo lead the inning off with a walk and the next batter, Ryan Hall, smashed a double.  With runners on second and third bases Lauren Canonico singled, driving in Amadeo to tie the score.  Then with two on and no outs Jake Chavis stepped to the plate and walloped a three run homer, ending the game in dramatic fashion for the Slingers with a final score of 13-10.

For the Slingers Jake Chavis went 2-3 with 5 RBIs, Ryan Hall was 3-4 with 2 RBIs and Lauren Canonico went 2-4 with an RBI.

For Crossfit Mike Brizz went 2-3 with 4 RBIs and Mike Galanti went 3-4 with 2 RBIs.

Slingers are now 1-0 and return to action October 4th against Mongo Nation, while Crossfit drops to 2-1 and plays Mongo Nation on October 5th.
