New Teams, Old Rivalries and a Clean Slate

HOBOKEN, September 21 -- The Fall Flag Football League is when the heavy hitters come out to cause havoc on the ABL gridiron. Some new teams have joined in on the mayhem, and some familiar faces are back to test their metal against old rivals.

Many among the league were highly anticipating seeing 2015 un-defeated Spring Champions Scrape City step onto the big stage in the Fall Season, but Scrape will not be competing. Though their top receiver Michael Feliciano will be featured on a Bonnet Shore Legends team as a 1-2 punch to already established pass catcher Andrew Solomon this season.

The two were rivals last season and dueled for the top marks at the wide receiver position throughout.

While Scrape has that Spring Title in the trophy case, it is 10th & Willow that are the defending champions of the Fall League, and that is no small feat by any stretch.

The champs have apparently not lost their touch in the off-season. Jordan Descafano went ballistic on opening night on The Trumps throwing six touchdown passes, and amazingly enough went 11 for 11 for a perfect completion percentage.

He hit his favorite target from last season, Jimmy Principe, only twice in the game but both went for scores.

Mark Matarazzo also struck for two scores and Devin Lavesque and James Hill also got a score a piece from Jordan's big arm.

Descafano also went five for five on two point conversions, further extending his legend as one of the ABL's most deadly quarterbacks. Descafano will go on record in the ABL stats pages with his 100 percent completion rate (minimum ten passes).

The Trump offense was stifled in the contest as 10&W only allowed two completed passes in the game.

One week is in the books and the stat leader pages are once again littered with 10&W faces just like it was last Fall, and for the most part it stayed that way.

At some point in the season 10&W will have to clash with their rival from last fall Getcha' Popcorn Ready. 10&W currently owns the greatest bragging rights of all as they snatched the 2014 ABL Fall Flag Championship to the tune of a 24-12 score from Getcha' Popcorn just under a year ago.
