LEONIA, NJ -- This past Sunday, the batting strength of the Arsenal team proved to be too much fire power for Good Wood.
In the first game, Arsenal whopped four HR's in their victory with a final score of 20-6.
Arsenal player Jason DeJesus had a perfect day at the plate, going 4 for 4, including 3 doubles, 1 HR, scored 3 times and team high of 5 RBI's. Teammate, Alex Aitkens and D.J. Tarabokija each went 3 for 4 at bats, and scored twice. Alex also had 4 RBI's while D.J. produced 3 RBI's and a HR.
For the Good Wood squad, Paul Maffei had a real nice day going 3 for 3 at the plate and driving in 3 RBI's. John Dutcher was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI for his team.
In the second game, the GW challenged the Arsenal team for the first 5 innings, leading by a score of 12-11. But Arsenal put it away for good in the 6th inning hitting 3 HR's driving in 14 runs for a final 25-12 victory.
In the game, the hitting power of the Arsenal team was expressed with 6 HR's! Jared Fowler and Alex Aitkens each had two long balls apiece. Jason DeJesus and Jared Fowler each had game high 6 RBI's while teammate Alex Aitkens secured another 5 RBI's. Orlando Oliveras was perfect at the plate going 5 for 5. Victor Sanchez and Tom Romano each picked up the pitching wins for the Arsenals.
