Teams Split Doubleheader in 1st Meeting

Last Sunday, D’Anna Electric and the Boggsmen faced off in a season-opening doubleheader. With the new season upon them, both teams were eager finish the day with a two game lead over the other in the Fall Division.

In the first game of the double dip, the Boggsmen showed D’Anna Electric that they meant business by putting up 10 runs in the very first inning. The Electric countered by putting up 3 runs in the same inning. However, the fast start by the Boggsmen was enough for them to come away with the W, as they won game one by the final score of 14-5. The batters for the Boggsmen played very well in this game. Every batter had at least one hit, and Dan Farelli, Pete Kraljic, Matthew Grath, Mark Vesce, and Brian Cataldi finished the game with 2 RBIs. The winning pitcher was Pete Kraljic

In game 2, D’Anna Electric made sure that the Boggsmen did not get out to a fast start again. The Electric held them to only 2 runs through the first 5 innings. Taking advantage of their good defense, the Electric pulled out to a 10-2 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th inning. With a defeat in sight, the Boggsmen began their comeback, as they scored 7 runs in the final two innings of the game. Unfortunately, it was not enough. D’Anna Electric managed to win game 2 by the slimmest of margins. The final score was 10-9

The doubleheader concluded in a tie that now leaves both teams with one win and one loss in the Fall Division. It is unclear how these two games will affect the seasons of both teams. However, as impressive as Arsenal and Minotaur have looked through their first games, it is safe to say that D’Anna Electric and the Boggsmen have their work cut out for them.
