The Arsenal, formerly, SOP-NJ, played long ball in the two games with the new Goodfellas team. On this day the Arsenal would provide 14-2 and 16-2 wins.
In the first game, the Arsenal's hit three round trippers. Alex Aitkens, a one-man offensive powerhouse, had 3 for 3 at the plate, scoring 3 times, hit a double, home run and produced game high of 6 RBI's.
Teammate Jim "Cards" Cardamonte also was perfect with 2 for 2 at bats with a H/R and 3 RBI's. Vic Sanchez pitched a five hitter and only allowed 2 runs to score to secure the win for the Arsenal's. For the Goodfellows Billy Fitzpatrick went 1 for 2 at bats with a triple and drove in 2 RBI's for his team.
In the second game, the power of the Arsenal's added six home runs for a total of nine on the day. Alex Aitkens again was 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored, a H/R and 3 RBI's. A truly fine personal performance in the two games for this ABL All-Star! Jim Cardamonte also 2 for 3 with an H/R and 3 RBI's. Home Run power also came from the bats of Jason DeJesus, DJ Tarabokija, Joey Feinstein and Chris Collins. Tom Romano pitched a fine six hitter and game the win in the second game.
Goodfellows Nick Rizzolo was perfect with 2 for 2 at bats. Mike Mitakian and Tom Abson each produced an RBI for the Goodfellow's team.
