Warinanco All Stars Put on Hitting Display Amidst Heated Playoff Race

ROSELLE, August 3 - The Warinanco League's Playoffs are in full swing, and prior to the one-sided All Star Game Fig Leaf and the Nugents slugged it out for the right to advance in the ABL Warinanco League Co-Ed Playoffs.

Fig Leaf came out strong with a big five run first inning followed by an even bigger six run second inning to drop eleven early runs on the Nugents, but the Nugents would not go down without a fight.

A massive ten run third inning would put them right back on top as they chipped away at the lead with ferocity. A true championship caliber team can withstand adversity with poise, and the Nugents proved they may just have the salt to hang with the big dogs.

The Nugents went on to take a victory in this hard fought playoff matchup 18-11 as they shut Fig Leaf down with stifling defense in the latter portions of the game.

After the playoff games the playoff teams, and players from around the league met up on field 8 to slug it out in the all-star game that pitted the Warinanco South All-Stars against the Warinanco North All-Stars.

Despite the North having a bit of fresher legs underneath them the South went utterly ballistic with the bats, as they smashed and crashed their way to a mercy rule 17-6 victory well after the sun went down over Warinanco Park.
