Kiewit Klowns Win Fantastic Series against EC Hawks to Take Gold

LEONIA, July 27 - The Kiewit Klowns controlled the ABL Central Division with authority during the regular season, and while it was a very close series against the EC Hawks they held their ground to take home an ABL trophy.

The final game could not have been more exciting as Kiewit Klown captain Jay Pearce said. "It was an incredible three game set that came down to the last at bat, of the last inning of the last game."

The Klowns handily won the first game against the Hawks 20-8, and then stumbled a bit in the second game with a 3-12 loss, but in the final nail biter the Klowns managed to come back in grand fashion and swipe the ABL Central title with a slim 6-5 victory.

Adam Chadwick lead this Klowns team with 32 RBI on the season just barely edging out Andrew Cardamone (31) and Drew Caruthers (26)

Chadwick's fantastic RBI production put him among the top 10 league wide for all eligible batters in the category, and proves him as a major cog in the machine that rumbled onto win ABL gold.

While Caruther's may have not edged out his fellow Klown Adam Chadwick in RBI, he did manage to fall within the top ten in batting average league wide among eligible hitters with a .721 batting average.

Chadwick may have knocked em' down, but Caruthers set em' up, and that is just as important when your making a run for it in a big spot.

As for the EC Hawks they can walk away with their heads high. For two straight seasons this young team has done quite well in the playoffs, and they have had to go up against the likes of surly veterans with years of experience and plenty of hardware in the Meshuganas and Kiewit Klowns.

Congratulations to the Klowns on a fine victory and a fantastic season.
