Scrape City caps off a perfect season with their first league championship.

Every team has one goal throughout the season: win.  One team took it to a whole new level and achieved that goal better than most others probably imagined.  With a pair of victories Sunday, Scrape City overcame their final two obstacles and claimed their first league championship.  They faced tough tasks in EMF and Power Pack, but never wavered.  As they had been all season, Scrape City was in complete control of both games from start to finish.

With the victories, Scrape City has earned themselves a perfect season: 11-0.  They exhibited their championship-caliber defense yet again, giving up just 15 points in the two games combined (including 2 points in their semifinal matchup with EMF).  The offense was rolling as well, posting a combined 62 points to complement their stifling defense.  The result?  Dominance.  It should not have been a surprise, however, as it was merely an extension of their excellent season.  This can easily be seen by their season point differential of 269, more than double that of the next closest team.  They scored more points per game and points per half than any other team.  Scrape City also gave up the second fewest points per game (short of first by a fraction of a point) on defense.  That same defense led the league in sacks, interceptions, and interceptions returned for touchdowns and was tied for 4th in safeties.

To fuel the team’s success, individual accolades were earned as well.  Derrick Stroble Jr. led the league in nearly every passing category – completions, attempts, completion percentage (minimum 6 games), 2-point conversions (tie), touchdowns, and sacks allowed (tie, minimum 6 games).  Michael Feliciano led the league in receptions and ranked 3rd in receiving touchdowns.  Junior Abrahams ranked 4th in receptions and was tied for 5th in receiving touchdowns.  Michael Feliciano, Junior Abrahams, and Steve Armstrong were all among a long tie for 4th in 2-point conversion receptions.  Dennis Guillen led the league in sacks and ranked 3rd in safeties.  Derrick Stroble Jr. and Rob Johnson shared the league lead in interceptions with John Quinn of Power Pack.  Levar Starr and James Jenkins earned a split of the league lead in interceptions returned for touchdowns.

With all of these standout performers, it cannot be forgotten that this is a team sport and that every player has his role.  This team was well-built and exhibited excellent chemistry.  The players complemented each other well, which allowed them to thrive together as a well-oiled machine.  All of this resulted in a potent offense and a lock-down defense, the perfect formula for a perfect season.  Congratulations to EMF, Power Pack, and No Fat Chix on great seasons and battling hard throughout the playoffs, and congratulations to the undefeated 2015 Spring Flag Football Champions Scrape City.
