Wolfpack beats Cooper's Union for ABL Basketball Championship

JERSEY CITY, July 20 - The Wolfpack, who finished the regular season with a 6-2 record and the third playoff seed, managed to handily swipe the ABL Basketball Championship last night after dispatching the fourth seed Cooper's Union 3's & T's with a 62-42 score.

The pack had control of this game from the first whistle and controlled the pace of the game with confidence. So much so that the first half ended with the pack up 35-18. With such a comfortable lead the pack just played smart and held onto their lead through the second half.

The Woflpack's Josh Heyer was the MVP of the night with 27 points, and 10 of them came from the free-throw line. Heyer was unstoppable and making plays all over the court. The big night put a bow an a real nice season for Heyer as he was his team's leading point scorer. David Lee also had a great game for the pack with 16 points and 11 boards.

Cooper's Union's play-makers were held in check by the Wolfpack's stifling defense in the contest. Scott Boswell, who is usually a point scoring machine, was held to just 8 points, and Nadiv Ahsan was not able to get it going from beyond the arc with a lone three-pointer.

The Union had a tough road to get to this game as they were tasked with defeating the number one seeded Goodfellas in the first round. They managed to get past the juggernaut of a team, but the Pack's well balanced team was on point and made few mistakes in the big game.

Congratulations to both squads for putting together some fine seasons.
