Power Surge

Power Pack take sole possession of second place behind a strong second half performance.

This past Sunday, Power Pack took on Show Me Your TD’s in hopes to move up in the rankings.  Show Me Your TD’s has struggled this season, but don’t let the record fool you; they have been steadily and noticeably improving in each of their games.  You can say the same thing about Power Pack too, however, who have found their groove and sought their 5th straight victory.  After a tie game going into half, Power Pack would take over the game on both sides of the ball in the second half and achieve that feat.

As stated above, Show Me Your TD’s is making strides each week and showing no signs of quit.  The went blow for blow with Power Pack in the first half, matching one long touchdown with another of their own and forcing the lone turnover in the half.  After a few breakdowns, both teams stepped up the defense and limited each other’s offenses to just 12 points.  In the second half though, Power Pack took over the game.  The defense swarmed and took away those big plays that burned them in the first half, adding a turnover as well.  The offense also stepped up big time.  They would convert on 10 of 14 passing attempts (improving from the 3 of 9 mark posted in the 1st half), which helped them spread the ball around a bit more and attack the defense more effectively.  Power Pack would put up a strong 20 points in the second half, while shutting out their opponent.  The late surge earned Power Pack the 32-12 victory and sprung them into 2nd place.

Both teams have only one game remaining on the schedule, and Power Pack has put themselves in an excellent position for a playoff run.  With their 5th straight win, they are now in sole possession of 2nd place, behind only Scrape City.  One more victory could very well cement them in that spot.  Show Me Your TD’s will look to play spoiler next week and aim for their first win.  The talent and the effort are certainly there, so they will have one more shot to bring it all together.  Congratulations to both teams on a hard fought game and good luck with the final games of your regular season.
