The Flag Season is Winding Down

HOBOKEN, June 17 - ABL Flag Football is coming down to the wire, and quite a few teams are fighting in a close knit bottle neck to earn a right to play in the post season.

Scrape City stands atop the standing with a shimmering 6-0 undefeated record, with Power Pack right on their heels at 5-2. After that EMF, No Fat Chix, Calabasas and George Edwards Minions all stand at 4-2.

Wet Bandits and Bonnet Shore Legends both hold 3-3 records and Humongous Melonheads, who have more games to play than their counterparts, sit at the bottom of the bottleneck with a 2-3 record.

All these teams have a shot to fight their way into the post-season, for some the road can be paved by themselves, while others must depend on other teams to miss the mark in some key games to sneak in. Head to head record and point differential will play a role in determining the eight teams that will fight for ABL hardware so every point matters now.

Looking at some of the individual stats for the teams you can see how some of these standout players have contributed to their team's success thus far. Derrick Stroble Jr. has certainly been a fantastic signal caller for Scape City, and is making a bid for an MVP season.

Power Pack's John Henry has also given his team a big boost and is most likely the team's driving factor in their impressive 5-2 record with 16 receiving touchdowns this season.

Defense is one of the most important aspects of football, or for any sport for that matter, and with their QB already sitting high atop the stats list Scrape City can be confident that they control both sides of the ball with Dennis Guillen leading the league with 12 sacks on the season.
