Ultron's Late Game Surge Not Quite Enough to Beat Class of the 90's

HOBOKEN, February 19 - Class of the 90's and Ultron met up Thursday night in Hoboken for a Kyrie Irving Division showdown that featured a solid late game surge by Ultron.

Class of the 90's took a commanding lead in the first half with a score of 31-14 and it seemed the fate of the game had been sealed before second half started.

The class was straight schooling Ultron, but the immense lead that class held, which at one point was a 24 points, did not force this gritty Ultron team to give up.

Ultron's Brian Nelson started to heat up from long range as he sunk three consecutive three-point baskets on his way to a 14 point night with 12 rebounds. As Nelson heated up the teams started to come alive. Dennis Murphy took a more close range approach in the battle plan and was sinking field goals left and right in the second half for a 12 point night of his own.

After being down by more than 20 points Ultron had clawed their way back, and with only minutes left was only down by 4 points.

The Class got their act back together though in the later minutes of the game.

Miguel Perez, who was already having a good night sunk a few key shots to keep his team ahead. Perez finished with 11 points on the night, and Jack Bermeo and newcomer Ted both had fantastic games for the Class as both players had 14 points nights. Bermeo also managed to sneak in 3 assists and 5 steals.

The Class managed to hold off the surging Ultron for a 51-41 victory, but Ultron's late game surge made the game an exciting affair. Ultron is starting to develop a trend as they tend to gel as a team late game and go on surges. So far the late game surges have not payed off too much, but grit and determination will start to pay off more often than not.
