Louise & Jerry’s and McSwiggans Pub meet in Championship

SUNDAY, November 16th—it was all bats on deck as the softball went sailing during an electrifying coed softball semifinals at Mama Johnson Field.  There was no holding back, as teams lay it all on the line for victory.

Game 1: (4) Schreib Tribe vs. (1) Louise & Jerry's Hit Squad

Louise & Jerry’s strikes fear in the eyes of most of the opponents faced over the seasons by invoking pure intimidation from the team’s gameplay to deflate an opponent's confidence.  Schreib Tribe Kaitlyn Foley laughed in the face of fear as she belted a 2 run single to get her team rolling.  The momentum was in favor of Schreib Tribe as the team had bases loaded with 1 out.  Louise & Jerry’s shortstop Anthony Muccioli made a pivotal unassisted inning ending double play to get his team out of a jam.

It became an uphill battle for Schreib Tribe as L & J’s defense stood strong and the offense of Chris Lyons and Angel Romano took off.  Chris and Angel hit the knock out blows for the Tribe as they went a combined 8 for 8, smacking 4 homeruns for 10 RBIs.

Louise & Jerry’s defeated Schreib Tribe 16 to 8.

Game 2:  (3) Pourhouse Sliders vs. (2) McSwiggans Pub

The Pourhouse Sliders wanted to end the game early as the team came out swinging in the 1st inning putting up 5 runs.  Swigz wasted no time in answering back as Randy and Jackie Williams were terrors on the base paths as Corey Brown and Brandon Doyle knocked them in.

All of the game’s highlights were overshadowed by one player’s performance.  McSwiggan Allison Twarowski put on a show at the plate.  Allison crushed two homeruns leaving the crowd speechless as she trotted around the bases.  Allison’s first homerun went over the housing department’s roof in left field.  Her 2nd homerun of the game was dead center going into the children’s playground.  Allison’s bat played a crucial role in the demise of the Pourhouse Sliders.

McSwiggans Pub defeated the Pourhouse Sliders 18 to 11.

The best of 3 Championship match is set.  Louise & Jerry’s will be taking on McSwiggans Pub for the Fall North Division Championship.
