Swigz defense standing strong

MONDAY, August 18---a team would have better luck breaking through the walls of Fort Knox than trying to find the crack in McSwiggans’ defense.  Their defensive unit has been pretty much flawless through the team’s first 5 games of the summer season.  Defensive players like Allison Twarowski and Corey Brown are able to play multiple positions, keeping opposing offenses guessing to where not to hit the ball.

As the opponent’s frustrations sink in, and their morale drops from falling batting averages, McSwiggans Pub goes for the kill by hitting the challenger with their bat.

Swigz Randy Williams and Dan Clark have been hot at the plate this season.  In 4 games played, Randy went 11 for 14, with a batting average of.786.  He also hit 4 doubles, smacked 2 homeruns and knocked in 11 runs.  Gold Glove Dan Clark put on a show during the spring all-star game and continues to tear it up this summer.  In the 4 games Dan has played, he went 8 for 13, with 2 homeruns, and 7 RBIs.

The buzz around ABL has been McSwiggans Pub’s rookie Brandon Doyle, who is quickly making a name for himself.  He has played 3 games this season and has hit a homerun in each of the games played.  During Brandon’s first 10 at bats in ABL, he has hit in 7 of them knocking in 7 runs.

Monday, September 8th should be circled in everyone’s calendar.  In a very highly anticipating match up, McSwiggans Pub is taking their record breaking fewest runs against, to a team who is currently on a 14 game winning streak.  Louise & Jerry’s have not lost a game in the year 2014.  In the past whenever these two teams square off it is always an instant classic. This time around will be even better because not only is it a great rivalry, but there will also be all time ABL records on the line.
