Adrenaline Rush Closes Regular Season with Doubleheader Sweep of SOPNJ

Adrenaline Rush closed the 2014 regular season Sunday with a doubleheader sweep of S.O.P. NJ at Bogota-Reese Field.  With the victories, Adrenaline Rush finished the year 13-9 overall while S.O.P. NJ closed the season with a 3-19 mark.

In Game 1, John Cangelosi ripped a game-tying, go-ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to propel Adrenaline Rush to a come-from-behind 15-12 victory.  Cangelosi went 3-for-4 in the triumph with two runs scored and five runs batted in.  Pedro Ruiz also contributed four hits and four runs scored for Adrenaline Rush.  S.O.P. NJ jumped out to an early advantage thanks to a 10-run second frame but managed just two runs through the contest's final five frames.

In Game 2, Adrenaline Rush plated five two-out runs in the first inning and never looked back en route to a 16-3 victory over S.O.P. NJ.  Cangelosi added another three hits, including a home run, while Dylan Preziosi contributed three hits, two runs scored and four runs batted in to the winning effort.  Hector Cartagena earned the victory on the mound allowing just three runs on eight scattered hits in six innings of work.

The 2014 ABL Men's Softball playoffs begin next Sunday.
